The Char Dham Yatra through the mountains of Garhwal Himalayas is made available only in the few months of summer and winter to pay obeisance and these are from April to Nov, However the best time to visit the Char Dham are May to June and the September to November.
The Holy Shrine of Char Dham is managed by Shri Kedar Badri Madir committee, which was constituted by an Act of the Uttrakhand State Legislature. Every year committee advises exact schedule including the duration of Char dham yatra keeping in view various factors like the Hindu calendar, weather conditions, clearing the snow from trek and temple area and the opening and closing date for Char dham yatra. The dates of opening and closing of Yatra are once decided by committee the schedule is strictly followed from the commencement till the Yatra culmination on Deepawali each year.
